The National Palace of Arts "Ukraine" is one of the biggest concert halls in kiev and in Ukraine in general, it is the main place to hold a concert or a political meeting.
It is located on the Krasnoarmeiskaya Street, 103 (neart metro station "Dvorets Ukraina").
The National Palace of Arts "Ukraine" was opened on April 17, 1970 to the 100th Lenin anniversary. It has more than 300 rooms all different in size and functions. While building they used many natural and artificial materials. The main concert hall today can seat 3714 spectators. On the plane the palace has a shape of trapezium. The scene can hold up to 1500 people. In the 1996 the palace had major repairs, the new press-center was built, equipped with the most modern equipment, also the hall for negotiations was added and a banquet hall. On April 22, 1998 the palace was attributed the status of National "taking in regard its important goal" in holding international and local political and cultural events and its contribution to the development of creative potential of Ukrainian nation.
During the period of its existence many nation-wide and international social and political events were held there: the Congress of the Communist Party of Ukraine (1971, 1976, 1981, 1986); the celebration of Kiev 1500th anniversary (1982); the inaugurations of the presidents of Ukraine; the celebration of Ukraine's Independence day; events that were dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of the Nativity of Christ etc. many popular Ukrainian and international stars were performing on this stage.
On February 2, 2011 in the Palace "Ukraine" the Final Draw of the Euro Cup 2012 was held.
