The national museum "Chernobyl" - is a museum in Kiev dedicated to Chernobyl catastrophe.
The museum was opened on April 26, 1992 in the building of Podol fire department (in 1980s in the nearby building the Kiev district fire department was located, this department was responsible for extinguishing the fire in the reactor )
There are about 7 000 exhibits - declassified documents, maps, photos, the monuments of folk architecture of Polissia collected by those who went on expeditions to Chernobyl zone of alienation.
Here you can see unique video materials about the catastrophe and its consequences, 3D diagram of Chernobyl before and after the catastrophe, the model of current power-generating unit that enriches the chronological and subject material of the museum and boost the trustworthiness.
Near the museum there is a sculpture "Hope for the future".
