The Verkhnyi Val Street

The Verkhnyi Val Street

The Verkhnyi Val Street is a street in Podol district and it is separated from the Nijniy Val Street by a boulevard.
The Banks (“Val”) used to be the northern border of the city during the Lithuanian reign. The banks used to not only protect the city from the enemies but also to be a dike that secured the Glubotchitsa River during the flood.
All the buildings are preserved starting from the XIX-XX centuries, there are a few houses that date back to the 1930s.
The metro station “Kontraktova Ploshcha” is on this street.
