The Krasnoarmeiska Street is located in the historical area the New Construction in Shevchenkovskiy, Pechersky and Goloseevskiy districts in Kiev. It begins at the Bessarabian Square and runs up to the Dzerjunskiy Square and the DryjbuNarodiv Boulevard. The length is 3.8km. The construction of buildings began in 1850s. theBolshayaVassilkovska Street was the main street at that period. You can still admire the buildings of that period. The following streets are joined to the Krasnoarmeiska Street: Skoropadskogo, Rognedintska, LvaTolstogo Square, Pushkinska, LvaTolstogo, Saksaganskogo, Julianska, Phizkyltury, Dimitrova, Fiodorova, Gorkogo, Laboratorna, Shchorssa, Vladimiro-Lubedska, Telmana, Tverska, Kovpaka, Liubchenko and Kudri. There were many attempts to give the street its old name – Bolshaya Vassilkovskaya – back. But it didn’t happen. Today both names are used with equal meaning. The metro station “PloshchaLvaTolstogo”, “Olympiyska”, “DvoretsUkraina” and “Lybedska” are on this street.
On the Krasnoarmeiska Street is situated NSK Olimpiyskiy, the commercial center Olimpiyskiy, the national palace of arts "Ukraine", the cinema "Kiev", many shops, bars, pubs and restaurants.
