It is a very ancient architectural monument in Lvov. It is built of stone. St. Nicolas church gives you the idea about the character of ancient Russian architecture. It was built in the middle of XIII century at the foot of Budelnitsa Mountain.
The first document where this church is mentioned dates back to 1292. It must have been built on the place of former church built by dukes Danilo or Lev.
There are only remains of the original XIII building (parts of walls and foundation). It is built of white limestone.
The church is built in Armenian and Balkan styles.
