The Proresna Streetislocated in Shevchenko district in Kiev. It leads from Kreshchatik to the Vladimirska Street. The PushkinskaStreet, Grinchenkastreet and Patorjynskogo street are joined to the Proresna Street. It appeared in 1840-1850s. the oldest name that we know – Martynovska. In 1850s it had different names – Zolotokreshchatinska and Proresna. The current name was attributed to it in 1990. In the middle of the Proresna Street there is a side street Myzykalna, where used to be a concert hall of the conservatoire and a Musical School that were destroyed in 1941. The lower part of the street was destroyed in 1941-1943. The new buildings were constructed in after war period. The nearest metro stations: “ZolotiVorota”, “MaidanNezlejnosti”, “Kreshchatik”.
In the green area there are three monuments. The first monument honors Michail Panikovskiy, the character from the novel “Golden Lamb”. In 2001 the second monument was installed in honor of Turkmen poet Fraga. In 2002 the last monument appeared that honors Les Kurbas. You can also see the memorial tablet to Les Kurbas on the house #17, where used to be the theatre founded by Les Kurbas.
