According to statistic data on the beginning of February 2012 more than 1 475 000 people visited the PinchukArtCentre.
It was founded on September 16, 2006 by Viktor Pinchuk Foundation.
PinchukArtCentre is situated in an ancient architectural ensemble of the Bessarabian district in Kiev that was restored in the beginning of XXI century. Philippe Chiambaretta, French architect, created the project and design of the space of the Artcentre. The centre occupies 6 floors and has exhibits rooms on 4 floors. It also possesses video-lounge hall and a café on the 6 floor, there is also the administration part of the building. The total area of the Artcentre is more than 300 sq.meters.
From the day of its opening the Artcentre became one of the most popular places among Ukrainian youth, citizens of Kiev and a great number of tourists. Flexible hours (12am-9pm) and free access give an incredible opportunity to meet modern art.
Thanks to ArtCenter Kiev has become one more spot on the map of contemporary art.
The Art Center organizes big scale projects along with temporary exhibits in terms of the art foundation PAC-UA. These small exhibitions are devoted to the works of young Ukrainian artist exclusively. All these exhibitions take place on the 5th floor of the ArtCanter.
In 2008-2009 there was created a special place to exhibit the works of young painters. Since that time such projects have been demonstrated there: "Pastime Paradise" by Kristina Solomykha (France - Ukraine), "The artistic map of the western Europe" by IRWIN group (Slovenia), "Art as a gift" by R.A.P. group (Ukraine), "the Dreamers" SOSka group (Ukraine), Keit Sigiura's personal exhibition (Japan).
In the end of 2008 the prize PinchukArtCenter was created – the first national prize for young artists aged under 35.
On December 8, 2009 Viktor Pinchuk Foundation announced the new prize – Future Generation Art Prize – new big scale international competition for artists less than 35 years old. PichukArtCentre is the main sponsor.
In February 2011 the ArtCentre has presented a new project "the Collection platform: Circulation" – constant exhibit of chosen works by talented foreign and Ukrainian artists, who work in the sphere of contemporary art. The collection is renewed every two years.
In October 2011 the PinchukArtCentre began an educational project called "Curator Platform". This project is a two year educational program aimed on educating the new generation of Ukrainian curators and art-specialists.
PinchukArtCentre – is a center of contemporary art of the XXI century, it is an open platform for painters, artists and communities, it is located in Kiev.
